Who is Claude Cahun 4 star Reviews and Audience feedback @southwarkplayhouse
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ London Theatre 1 "Who Is Claude Cahun? is a rare piece of theatre: rich in history, emotionally intelligent, and profoundly relevant. All of the performances were excellent, the writing is sharp, and the story is one that demands to be told. A fascinating, moving, and timely piece of theatre. Thoroughly recommended." ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Shinylife.co.uk "Sizzlingly relevant and urgent, Who Is Claude Cahun? is one of the most compelling pieces of theatre currently staged in London!" ★★★☆ Lou Reviews "Suffused with the spirit of surrealism" ★★★☆ The Reviews Hub "Exceptionally true to the recorded history and fight against fascism" ★★★ A Young(ish) perspective "A fascinating depiction of resistance, queerness, and Jewishness that promotes a deeply resonant and relevant history." ★★★ Theatre Weekly "David Furlong’s assured direction manages to keep the narrative threads coherent, and the change of tone from surrealism to historical biography are smooth and effective."

UNTIL SHE SLEEPS by Brad Sutherland, directed by David Furlong
Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf meets Whatever Happened to Baby Jane. Edward and Henrietta Dunbar considered themselves the preeminent couple down at “the club,” but when distrust takes hold of Henrietta, the Great Edward Dunbar faces his most formidable opponent. OFFIE nominated director David Furlong brings the high-tension drama Until She Sleeps to the White Bear Theatre. While the play bears similarities to Alfred Hitchcock thrillers and realism plays such as Look Back in Anger, Until She Sleeps questions our sincerity in modern relationships, and whether we ultimately persist in relationships solely for the benefits we glean from others. Multi-award-winning actor Tonya Cornelisse (Hitmen) stars as “Henny,” the wife who refuses to be discarded by her husband, The Great Edward Dunbar, is played by award-winning actor Jonathan Hansler. White Bear Theatre – 5th November – 16th November 2024 Tuesday - Saturday 2:30pm (Sat) & 7:30pm

David Furlong about NOOR A TRUE STORY OF LIBERTÉ - London Live interview.
In 2018, we produced NOOR, A TRUE STORY OF LIBERTÉ, a new devised family show about real-life British secret agent Noor Inayat Khan who grew up in Paris and joined the Royal Air Force. Considered Britain’s first Muslim war heroine, she was sent as radio-operator in France during World War Two to help the Resistance. She was a secret agent and a super heroine undercover. The company is a diverse multi-lingual cast of performers: Nadia Nadif, Fanny Dulin, Benjamin Alexander Fröhlich and David Furlong in the world premiere of a brand-new multimedia play about history and identity directed by Marcus Montgomery Roche. It was performed Tristan Bates Theatre and and curated by Voila Europe Theatre Festival

Making THE CAT IN (re)BOOTS ! (episode 1)
A behind the scenes directed by Romina Fernandez No need to introduce Charles Perrault’s Puss in Boots? A cunning joker and a thief, the malicious cat is one of the children and grown-ups most beloved (anti)heroes! But who is he really? As part of the 23rd South Ken Kids Festival, with themes of Kindness, Fraternity and Diversity, our anti-racist version reclaims Le Chat Botté for what he really is: all he does is out of generosity and justice and the story of the marquis de Carabas is one of the best models of social mobility. Our cat breaks down all barriers of class and origins. Led by Fanny Dulin (Off West-end nominee for Best production for Young audience) and David Furlong (Young Vic, Off West for best director), the company is joined by Hervé Goffings (Peter Brook’s The Prisoner) and Léo Elso (The Grinning Man, West End). In these very special times, we need to get together around art, to learn how to reinvent ourselves and we are maintaining our show in its online version. Moreover, producing a children show in 2020, after #BLM bears a responsibility to awaken children to contemporary questions. #CatInReBoots #FamilyShow #PussInBoots #BrightonFringe #CelebrateFringe #Tale #CharlesPerrault #Cat #Diversity #Kindness #UnconsciousBias #AntiRacism http://bit.ly/cat-in-reboots-brighton
